Key Scripture:
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33 (NIV)
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” – Ephesians 5:15–16 (NIV)
Reflection:
Time is one of the greatest resources you have, and the way you use it reveals what you truly value. Jesus invites you to seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness, with the promise that your needs will be taken care of as you do. This is not an invitation to neglect responsibilities, but to reorder them around Him.
When other pursuits, career, comfort, entertainment, take first place, spiritual things get squeezed to the edges. You may intend to pray or read Scripture, but it never quite fits. Seeking the kingdom first means consciously making space for God’s presence, purposes, and people in your schedule.
This reordering may start small: adjusting morning routines, limiting distractions, or carving out time for service and community. Over time, those small choices create a life pattern where God’s will shapes your calendar. You become more intentional, less scattered, and more aligned with what truly matters.
Prayer:
Father, teach me to number my days wisely. Show me where my time is being wasted or misdirected. Help me to put Your kingdom first in my schedule, my decisions, and my focus. Amen.
Today’s Action Step:
Look at your next seven days. Identify one time block you can reclaim (for example, from social media or TV) and dedicate it instead to prayer, Bible reading, or serving someone.
